"Nations Cup by EAL": BiH national team wins first medal

The Bosnia and Herzegovina team, consisting of Harun Parla and Taruk Novo, dominated the first Nations Cup held in Jahorina and deservedly won the gold medal.

At this prestigious tournament, more than 30 of the best EA FC24 players from the region and Europe fought for gold and valuable prize money. The competition brought together a large number of delegates, international e-sports representatives, media, as well as young enthusiasts who are showing increasing interest in this fast-growing industry.

Fierce battles until the finals
After extremely tense matches, the final match was played between the teams of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a match full of strategic moves and euphoric moments on the virtual field, the BiH team, led by Parla and Novi, was superior, achieving a 3:1 victory. Serbia finished the tournament as the second-placed team, while Moldova, after an exciting match with Luxembourg, won the bronze medal. Although Montenegrin representatives Luka Manojlović and Aleksa Joksimović excelled in the group stage, they failed to advance due to close and tense matches with the hosts and the very strong Georgians. Harun Parla, one of the winners, recalled the challenges they had during the round of 16, when they had to fight for survival against the main favourites, the Turkish national team. "Although Turkey and Moldova were big challenges, they gave us the motivation to go to the final. And when we saw that we could play against Serbia, we knew we were on the right track," said Parla, adding that playing in front of the home crowd brought additional pressure. For him, this tournament was not just another competitive challenge: "We didn't have much pressure, we came relieved, but we believed that we could achieve good results. We didn't expect a medal, so this is a big deal for us - Bosnia and Herzegovina's first medal at a major competition in this game." This is the third time that Parla has participated in regional tournaments, but, as he points out, the competition was much stronger this time, and the novelty of the tournament was the 2v2 mode , in which the competitors met with players from all over the region. "We didn't practice the 2v2 mode intensively, but we had experience with similar matches two years ago and that helped us. It will help us become even better," said Parla, emphasizing that, although this is his hobby, he will continue invest in the game and further progress. Growth of the community and e-sports in BiH
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the entire region, the number of serious players is growing year by year. "The community has grown significantly in the last few years. We have a lot of talented players in BiH, and the same is true in the entire region. E-sports has become a thriving industry, and the number of top players is growing," said Parla, who also emphasized the importance of the friendships that are formed at these competitions. "Hanging out with players from Montenegro, such as Manojlović and Joksimović, really means a lot. During the preparations, we play friendly matches, and in addition, we always motivate each other off the virtual field." New standards for e-sports in the region
